“Fireflies Twinkling”

16″ x 20″ x 3/4″ Canvas with a black acrylic base coat.

After covering a used canvas with black acrylic paint. I recycled an old painting and created something new. I used a variety of colors in Acrylic Paints. I favored the Impasto application technique to apply the paints loosely with my fingers. Progressing to the final image by layering the colors for depth and interest. A free and open stroke left the finished work with an abstract appeal and an impressionistic nature. The subject matter of fireflies and the naive use of color and lines give it a folk quality. spOtlight: Map Your Kitchener @ Artery Gallery

From Friday June 6th through Sunday June 8th, spOtlight featured over 100 free activities presented by more than 250 artists throughout Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Stratford, Elora, Erin and St. Jacobs.

Artery Gallery hosted an interactive mapping project using archival photos, memorabilia, drawing tools & digital images. Join Andrew Hunter (RENDER), Proboscis, and the Artery Gallery to create a wall map of Kitchener.

spOtlight was a pilot project organized by the Ontario Arts Council & the government of Ontario. This region was selected for this pilot program because of the abundance & quality of artistic activity.

spOtlight mirrors CAFKA.TV’s objective of profiling the region’s cultural vitality & CAFKA’s overriding mandate of bringing Art to the people. We were thrilled to participate in this exciting initiative.

TBOSCO is short for The Black-Out Syndrome Club. It was founded by frontman John Medley and has a different line-up every concert.But however TBOSCO always brings Natural Born Free Jazz! This is a concert for the opening and pressconference of “The confusing Summer in Pool 120″, a project by Henri van Zanten in collaboration with the PAS(Passive Art Society)and the DPC (Depression Promotion Centre). It was hosted by Harmen Verbrugge in The Polish Art Gallery/Gallery Pool 120 in july/august 2007
